The main topic of the Sunday meeting of the church “Philadelphia” on June 7 was the conflict of two kingdoms. Senior pastor Pavel Ivanovich Zhelnovakov talked not about politics and real wars but about the continual confrontation of the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world where satan reigns — he is called “the prince of this world” in the Bible. Jesus Christ began His serving with the words: “The Kingdom of God is near”. He referred to the Kingdom of God as a certain spiritual system that should permeate us and is righteousness, peace and joy. On the contrary, the other kingdom is a worldly system that hates man and wants to humiliate him and finally kill. In James 4:4-7 we read: “Don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit He caused to live in us envies intensely? But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. The kingdom of this world is based upon egotism and arrogance; it wants to enslave and destroy. Even if it gives something, it will cost you dear. The “recipe” of resisting it is given by Paul in Ephesians 6:10-11: “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes”. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well — this is a calling of Jesus.
