Three types of faith

Are we satisfied with the existing level of relations with God? Are we planning to be content with what we have? These were the question that Alexander Razuvaj in his sermon on 27 September in the church “Philadelphia”.  As an example of a zealous following after God he took Elisha who knew that his teacher Elijah was going to God and kept being with him till the end. Elijah suggested that Elisha should stay in towns they were pаssing. Still he was able to get greater blessing only when he stayed with his teacher. This image shows us that we shouldn’t be only in a comfortable place but it’s better to be willing to follow God wherever He leads us.

Senior pastor Pavel Zhelnovakov touched upon a topic that is relevant for many people. Why can’t we be healed after a prayer? Why is God silent when we are waiting for His answers? Maybe it is because of lack of faith? In the Bible there are many verses about promises that believers will have everything and that everything is possible for a believer. What do we lack?

Pavel Ivanovich emphasized three types of faith:

1. saving faith — we get salvation through such faith. It is God’s gift that every believer has got.

2. helping faith — it helps us not to give up and overcome difficulties. In 1 Peter 5:8-9 it is said that we can resist devil, standing firm in the faith, and in Hebrews 11:6 we read that without faith it is impossible to please God

3. winning faith — we should be willing to get such faith through searching God and knowledge of God’s word, that strengthens our faith and obedience.

This topic  will be revealed in next sermons as well. It is important to remember — we should apply these words in our life.
