Building spiritual home

On the Sunday meeting of the church "Philadelphia" on 29 January Aleksej Romanov gave a sermon. The minister started from the story from the life of Christ and disciples: disciples asked who was the greatest among them. Christ answered having a child standing among them: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3-4). Giving an example of another event when 5 thousand were fed with 5 loafs of bread and 2 fish given by a boy (Matthew 14:15-21), Aleksej said that the boy "became dead to his loafs and fish" for Christ. He didn't regret it and there was a miracle. Thousands of people were fed. We should die for ourselves so that God's glory could be revealed.

There was another sermon by the youth pastor Vladimir Batalov. He was talking about building our spiritual body. Apostle Peter writes in his epistle that we should be "built into a spiritual house" (1 Peter 2:5). Paul echoed this: "But each one should be careful how he builds" (1 Corinthians 3:10). Christ often compares believers with builders. Every builder can be faithful or not. The pastor pointed out that we should remind ourselves regularly what we are standing on, what we are building on, what we are building and from what materials. We should have zeal, the right one. Sometimes it happens that we are going away from the true foundation but continue building the walls with a particular zeal. Right self-assessment and strengthening by God's power is going to contribute the right direction. Nothing is possible without God's power.
