God of hope

On April 2 at the service of “Philadelphia” church in Izhevsk bishop of the RCCEF in Chelyabinsk region Alexander Nikolaev talked of how important to a church to have faith. “Sometimes we have no strength just because we have no hope”. But God can give it to us as the Apostle Paul says in Romans 15:13. “Let the Holy Spirit do what the Lord wants to see in us so much!” – the speaker addressed to the community. God wants us to witness His glory, love and power. We need strength for this, and the basis of it is the hope given by God.

Besides, the church prayed for their premarital relationship of Dmitry Feoktistov and Elena Eseneeva. Marina Postnikova, head of the Izhevsk Social Service Office of Oktyabrsky District, thanked the church, its ministries and the people who helped in the center’s work. “Faith without deeds is dead” (James 2:26) – Senior pastor commented afterwards. “Let the example of those whose names sounded inspires us, because the best evidence of faith and God's mercy is our charity, virtue and service to others”.

Then Senior pastor said in his sermon that God has prepared a special destiny for us. Pavel Zhelnovakov cited the Scripture: “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight in love ” (Ephesians 1:4). But on the way to our election we may suffer “shipwreck with regard to the faith” if we neglect the teaching of Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 1:19). Therefore, we should grow in the knowledge of God adding to our faith everything the Apostle Peter mentioned in his Second Epistle (2 Peter 1:5-11). Doing this we will confirm our calling and election.
