On May 28 the youth pastor of “Philadelphia” church in Izhevsk preached on “the orphan spirit”. “Does anybody need me?”, “God, do you hear me?, “Do you know my problems?” – are you familiar with these questions? Jesus understood that it is typical of people to suffer from these thoughts, that is why He said: “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you” (John: 14:18). To avoid this “orphan state” pastor Vladimir gave several principles that we can follow.

The first principle is ‘to leave place for God’s miracles in our lives’, for God’s work cannot always be explained by logic. The second principle is “to remember God’s grace”, “for it is by grace you have been saved – and this is not from yourselves – it is a gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). We cannot “earn” salvation, God gives it to us by His grace. “Come to God, confess your sins” – called the pastor – “and your heart will be free”. The third principle is to follow God’s revelations. God answers our questions and prayers, but revelations do not come by themselves – they are the fruit of our search of God. The forth principle is to communicate with the Holy Spirit. “The devil’s task in this world is to bring the image of God down to a rational one – said Vladimir Batalov – that we merely know that He excists” We forget that God is a living God, He knows our problems and cares for us. And the task of the Holy Spirit is to guide us to God (John 16:13). The fifth principle is to abide in church. The church is a unique place, where the Holy Spirit manifests in a special way, where brothers and sisters help us to become better, and it is important to be open to them, to allow them to speak to your life, sometimes “to dig dipper” (of course do not let everyone do it). There is a biblical foundation for that in James 5:16. Pastor Vladimir comes with the conclusion: only God can change our lives, He will not leave us as orphans (John 14:18), He will not forget us (Isaiah 49:15).

“We know well how to store up earthly treasures, but do we know how to store up treasures in heaven?” – pastor Dmitry Vladykin addressed the church with this question, contemplating on the Gospel of Matthew 6:19-21. And we can store it up by our faithful service to God. As in the parable about talents (Matthew 25:13-30). So do not worry about what you shall eat or what you shall wear, but “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:31-33).

Nadezhda Korepanova invited people, whose heart is ready for that, to the worship ministry. And Zulfya Baburina introduced a new ministry “Wives in Prayer” and invited wives to pray for their unsaved husbands.
