On May, 6 at the second service of “Philadelphia” church in Izhevsk a youth minister Konstantin Proleev shared his message. He preached on spiritual gifts and talents, given by God to every believer. There is not a man without gifts – this is what we read in the parable about talents (Matthew 25:13-30) – this parable also urges us to develop our talents. The preacher also noted that first of all we need to use our gifts in the church, for the church is the body of Christ – and it has to act.

Senior pastor Pavel Zhelnovakov addressed the church with the word about God’s glory, in which we as believers are gradually transformed (Ephesians 1:3-6). However not all people choose this way, some do not want to change in accordance with God’s word, that is why God gives them over to “a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done” (Romans 1:19-32).  Pavel noted that words “gave over” do not mean compulsion, God left them in this state, because they did not want to change. The way out for such people is to return to the image of God, and this is possible only in the church. That is why the church has a very important task – to show God’s glory to the world, and it can be manifested in everyday life – in respect, honesty, in kind attitude. Apostle Paul wrote that we need to live lives worthy of God (1 Thessalonians 2:12) – it is the high standard that we all need to aspire to get to.
